Who we are

GiveTrees Inc. builds financial software for nonprofits. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We wrote it in plain language because our users are nonprofit leaders and volunteers, not lawyers.

What we collect today

GiveTrees is in early access. If you join the waitlist we collect the information you give us. That means your name, email address, organization name, and your optional answers about your organization and what you need from us. We use those answers to decide what to build and who to invite first.

If you visit the site we collect basic technical information like pages viewed and approximate region so we can understand what works. We do not sell this data and we do not run third party advertising.

What we will collect once your organization is live

When GiveTrees launches for your organization, the product will hold organization records you create and financial information needed to do its job. That includes your employer identification number for nonprofit verification, transaction data from bank accounts your administrator connects through our bank data provider, donation records from connected giving platforms, and the sponsor outreach you write.

Bank connections are read only. We receive transaction information so your teams can track money. We do not receive credentials to move money, and connecting an account never authorizes a payment.

How we use information

We use your information to run the product, to verify nonprofits so sponsors can trust outreach that comes from GiveTrees, to draft content you ask us to draft, and to improve the product. Where we use software services to do this, such as hosting, secure data storage, bank data aggregation, and AI assistance for drafting and discovery, those providers process data on our behalf under their own confidentiality obligations. We never sell personal or financial information. We never share your financial data for marketing.

Your choices

You can ask us to show you, correct, or delete the information we hold about you or to remove you from the waitlist at any time by emailing hello@givetrees.fund. Organization administrators control their organization's data and can disconnect a bank account at any time, which also revokes our access with the provider.

Security and retention

Financial data is encrypted in transit and at rest, access inside GiveTrees is scoped so each organization sees only its own records, and credentials for connected services are stored server side and never in your browser. We keep information while your account or waitlist entry is active and delete it on verified request, except where the law requires us to keep records longer.

Children

GiveTrees is for adults who run organizations. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and youth program rosters are not part of the product.

Changes

When this policy changes we will update the date above, and for meaningful changes we will tell waitlist members and customers by email before the change takes effect.
